Prize Draw Official Rules

These Rules apply to every prize draw we run on https://staging.winfling.co.uk (the “Site”). Each draw also has draw-specific details on its competition page (prize, ticket prices, opening and closing dates, maximum paid entries). If those details conflict with these Rules, the competition page wins for that draw only.

By entering (paid or by post) you agree to these Rules, our Website Terms, and our Privacy Policy.

1. No purchase necessary

No purchase, payment or donation of any kind is necessary to enter or win. You may enter by post as set out in section 5 and on https://staging.winfling.co.uk/postal-entry. All eligible entries, paid and postal, have an equal chance of winning per entry. We do not distinguish between paid and postal entries when selecting a winner.

2. Eligibility

Draws are open to individuals who, at entry and at winner selection:

• are aged 18 or over; and
• are legal residents of the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland).

You must not be: an employee, officer or director of the Promoter (or a company in the same group); a contractor engaged to run the draw; or a member of their household or immediate family.

We may ask for proof of identity, age and address before awarding a prize. Void where prohibited.

3. How to enter — paid

During the entry period shown on the competition page, visit the Site, choose the number of entries, and pay the displayed price through our payment provider (Stripe). When payment succeeds we allocate that number of unique ticket numbers to you. Each ticket is one entry.

Bulk, automated or fraudulent entries are void.

4. Entry period and limits

Opening and closing dates and times are on the competition page (UK time).

Paid online entries close at the published closing date and time (23:59:59 UK time), or when the maximum number of paid entries shown on that competition page has been allocated, whichever is sooner. That paid maximum can differ from draw to draw. If paid entries reach that maximum before the published closing date, postal entries remain open until that original closing date. We will not bring the postal closing date forward because paid entries sold out.

Per-person purchase limits, if any, are stated on the competition page and apply to paid entries only. We will not apply a lower per-person limit to postal entries than to paid entries. Postal entries received by the published closing date are allocated ticket numbers even if the paid maximum for that draw has already been reached.

5. How to enter — post (free route)

To enter without paying us:

1. On a postcard or a single sheet of paper, write or type clearly: your full legal name; your residential address (not a PO Box); city and postcode; email address; telephone number (optional); date of birth (to confirm you are 18+); and the exact name of the prize draw as shown on the competition page.
2. Send it by ordinary first-class or second-class post (not Special Delivery, courier or hand delivery) to:

   Write the prize draw name on the front of the envelope or card.
3. One entry per postcard or outer envelope. Several cards in one envelope count as one entry. You may send as many separate postal entries as you wish, up to any maximum stated on that competition page (and that maximum will not be stricter than the paid maximum, if any).
4. Postage is at the ordinary rate only. We do not charge an entry fee for this route.
5. We must receive and process the entry by 17:00 UK time on the original closing date shown on the competition page, even if paid online entries have already reached that draw’s paid maximum. Paid online entries close at 23:59:59 UK time on that date, or earlier if the paid maximum shown on the competition page is reached.
6. A postal entry is only valid once we have processed it and allocated a ticket number. We will confirm by email to the address on the card where we reasonably can. We are not obliged to notify you if an entry is invalid (illegible, missing the draw name, late, wrong postage, under 18, etc.).
7. If a postal entry wins, no further purchase is required to be told or to receive the prize.

6. The prize

The prize is as described on the competition page at the time you enter. Unless that page says otherwise:

• there is no cash alternative except where we reasonably substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize is unavailable;
• the prize is non-transferable;
• you are responsible for tax, insurance, running costs and (for vehicles) licence, except any tax or fee we expressly say we will pay.

7. Winner selection

After the postal cut-off we will select the winning ticket by a verifiably random process from all eligible ticket numbers allocated for that draw (paid and postal). The draw does not prefer paid entries.

If the competition page says there is a guaranteed winner, a winner will be drawn even if not all advertised paid tickets were sold.

Odds of winning are 1 in the total number of eligible entries (paid and postal) at the draw. That number may be lower than the paid maximum shown on the competition page if the closing date arrives first, or slightly higher if postal entries are allocated after paid entries have reached that maximum.

We are the official timekeeper.

8. Winner notification

We will contact the potential winner using the email (and, if provided, phone) associated with the winning entry within 7 days of the draw. They must reply within 14 days and complete reasonable identity checks. If we cannot verify them in time, we may draw another ticket from the remaining eligible entries.

9. Publicity

We may publish the winner’s surname and county to show a valid award took place. The winner may object in writing; we may still have to give details to the ASA or another regulator on request. We may ask the winner to take part in reasonable publicity. Publicity is not a condition of receiving the prize.

10. Refunds

Paid entry fees are not refunded after ticket numbers have been allocated, except where we cancel a draw or are required to refund by law. Cancelling a payment does not withdraw an allocated ticket unless we agree otherwise.

11. Cancellation and abuse

We may void entries, disqualify a person, or cancel or postpone a draw if it is corrupted, unlawful, or subject to fraud, technical failure or events beyond our reasonable control. We will not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful (including death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud).

12. Law

These Rules are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your home courts.
